Six Years of Giving Veterans a Warmer Home

Every year around Veterans Day, we give a new furnace or air conditioner to a veteran whose home equipment needs attention. The nomination process matters to us because it puts a person at the center of the decision, not just a broken unit. We describe the recipient as “a veteran in need” because dependable home comfort can arrive at exactly the right moment—and for six veterans so far, it has. That’s what keeps the program going year after year.

A Food Drive That Didn’t Stop After the Holidays

Last year’s seasonal food drive brought in 512 pounds of canned food before Christmas. The response spoke for itself—as our team put it, “We had such a good turnout.”

Rather than wrapping it up after the holidays, we kept the collection going. Donations have continued at around 50 pounds per week, turning a routine customer visit or errand into an easy way to contribute. It’s become one of the simplest ways our community shows up for its neighbors.

Our work takes us into homes across Colorado Springs every day for heating, cooling, plumbing, and electrical needs. That daily presence is a reminder that being part of a community means paying attention to the people who live in it.
