Community Involvement at One Source Home Service
Serving homes throughout Colorado Springs keeps us closely connected to the community around us. We believe that connection comes with a responsibility to give back, and we put that belief into practice through recurring support for veterans and ongoing food donations. These efforts have grown steadily, one year and one contribution at a time.
Six Years of Giving Back to Veterans on Veterans Day
Every November around Veterans Day, we give a new furnace or air conditioner to a veteran in need. We’ve kept this tradition going for six years, providing equipment to six veterans along the way. Putting it on the annual calendar is what keeps the commitment real rather than occasional.
Recipients are chosen through a nomination process. We visit the home, hear the veteran’s story, and consider the condition and age of their existing equipment. It’s a natural extension of the heating and cooling work we do every day, focused on people in our community who deserve it.
A Food Drive That Outlasted the Holidays
We launched a food drive that originally ran through November and December. We collected 512 pounds of canned food and delivered it just before Christmas. The response was strong enough that we didn’t want to stop there.
We now donate approximately 50 pounds of food each week, year-round. What started as a seasonal effort has become a regular part of how we stay involved.

For us, community involvement isn’t a side project. Our annual equipment giveaway draws directly on the home comfort services we provide every day, while our food drive creates a consistent, practical way to contribute. Both reflect something we genuinely believe: supporting the community takes action and follow-through, not just good intentions.
